  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT

Connecticut has recently enacted several laws that will affect employers of all sizes in Connecticut. Among these new laws are:

  • A statute requiring employers to disclose the wage range for positions, regardless of whether an applicant has asked for salary information
  • A statute legalizing recreational marijuana with various implications for the workplace, including the creation of employment protections for recreational marijuana users
  • A law placing recall and retention obligations on certain hotels, lodging houses, food service contractors and building service enterprises
  • A law expanding lactation accommodation requirements
  • A law banning questions about a person's age, birthdate, graduation date or dates of attendance at an educational institution on an initial employment application

We will discuss these new laws and provide guidance on implementation of these laws in the workplace. In addition, we will discuss updates to the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act, pursuant to which benefits can be paid to employees as of January 1, 2022.
