Changes to Sexual Harassment Law in Minnesota? The Answers, My Friends, Are Blowing in the Wind

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT

This Legislative session, the Minnesota Legislature proposed the most sweeping changes to sexual harassment law in over thirty years. Coming late in the game, that proposal was shelved, but it seems certain the issue will continue to gain traction and arise again in next year’s Legislative session. This complimentary webinar will discuss what every employer needs to know about the history of sexual harassment law in Minnesota, the impetus for this change and the Legislative wrangling behind it, and how employers would be effected by these sweeping changes.

Topics include:

  • The history and development of employee protections for sexual harassment
  • Minnesota cases interpreting the current severe or pervasive standard
  • The Legislative effort to amend the Minnesota Human Rights Act to jettison the severe or pervasive standard
  • What happens now? Will the Legislature revisit this change?
  • How employers can navigate this potential new standard

Time:

10:00 - 11:00 am PT
12:00 - 1:00 pm CT
1:00 - 2:00 pm ET
