New York employers face huge challenges due to complicated and restrictive new laws concerning predictive scheduling, salary histories, and freelancer contracts on top of recent ban-the-box and credit check legislation. At this lively briefing, speakers - including the Deputy Commissioner of the NYC Commission on Human Rights - will explore the following topics:
View from the top: The New York City Commission on Human Rights’ interpretation of:
- The Stop Credit Discrimination in Employment Act
- New York City Fair Chance Act
What you need to do to comply with:
- Predictive Scheduling Law
- Freelance Isn’t Free Act
- Heightened enforcement of the New York City Earned Sick Time Act
NOTE: Littler will not be covering the mechanics of compliance with the New York State Paid Family Leave Law at this briefing. Instead, Littler is offering a series of sessions, commencing November 2, 2017, to assist employers in understanding this new law and to ensure compliance by January 1, 2018.
