Wage and hour disputes have become the most common source of substantial, employment-related liability facing employers today. Ongoing changes in federal regulations and expanding state regulations add to the compliance challenges facing employers. In this new webinar series, the attorneys will provide information to make sure employers are well-informed.

We will be kicking off the series covering the tip-related lawsuits that have exploded in the past decade. The FLSA and various states’ labor laws contain requirements that govern when an employer can apply a tip credit towards tipped employees’ wages and the categories of employees who can receive a share of guests’ tips. This webinar will provide an overview of the following:

  • Labor laws governing tipping
  • Identify a host of hot-button issues under both federal and state law that have resulted in multi-million dollar settlements
  • Provide recommendations identifying best practices to avoid these types of lawsuits
