Legislative Monitoring

With the support of a state-of-the-art knowledge management (KM) department, Littler monitors federal, state and local legislation, executive orders, and administrative regulations and other agency activity that impact the labor and employment landscape. KM tracks pending legislation in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, major cities and counties, and the federal Congress, and closely watches bills as they progress through the legislative lifecycle. 

When a bill passes or a rule is enacted, Littler notifies clients through timely alerts and updates, including detailed summaries of each new law available on Littler Edge as well as links to the latest version of the bill. We frequently publish in-depth analyses of significant new developments in Littler’s Insights. Littler attorneys partner with clients in implementing new legislative or regulatory requirements, helping to avoid penalties that may arise because of non-compliance.

By monitoring pending legislation, we help clients anticipate compliance needs. We offer custom legislative reporting for clients tailored to the client’s business needs, and deliver timely, focused information customized to the client’s industry and states of operation. These reports also include pending legislation, enabling clients to prepare for changes in advance.

50-State Surveys

Littler Knowledge Management maintains more than 90 multistate surveys covering the full range of labor and employment law topics. These surveys, available on Littler Edge are continuously reviewed and updated to ensure that changes in the law are captured as they happen. Each survey breaks down the applicable laws into clear, easily digestible portions so that clients with compliance questions are quickly able to find answers. We also partner with clients to develop custom surveys to address employment law issues specific to them. These custom surveys are more nuanced and offer a deeper dive on a particular topic or industry.

Global Monitoring

For our multinational clients, Littler Knowledge Management tracks international legislative and regulatory developments and offers custom global reporting. For over 15 years, Littler has also published the Littler International Guide, which provides a comprehensive, comparative analysis of international employment and labor laws.
