NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 4, 2024) – Bruce Buchanan, an attorney in the Nashville office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has published the 2024 edition of The I-9 and E-Verify Handbook, along with co-author Greg Siskind of Siskind Susser, PC.
The I-9 and E-Verify Handbook: A Guide to Employment Verification & Compliance is an important resource for HR professionals, attorneys and others involved in I-9 and E-Verify compliance as it covers a number of important topics, including completing the I-9 Form; penalties for violating Immigration Reform and Control Act Section 1324a; Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) I-9 audits; E-Verify compliance; electronic I-9 systems; Immigrant and Employee Rights (IER) Section; investigations and violations; mergers and acquisitions; and state immigration laws.
As special counsel in the Littler’s Immigration Practice Group, Buchanan counsels employers on immigration compliance issues, conducts internal I-9 audits, represents employers on ICE inspections and audits, IER investigations, E-Verify issues, and employment-based visas. Additionally, Buchanan practices traditional employment law where he represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, and in collective bargaining.
In addition to his legal practice, Buchanan is an active speaker on immigration compliance and labor law and is scheduled to speak, for the third consecutive year, at the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s National Conference. He also regularly speaks before many employer groups, including the Associated General Contractors, Tennessee Bankers Association, Tennessee Bar Association, SHRM, among others.
